Every device we make is built to improve a patient's outcome. How we make it should improve the planet's, too.

Since 2008, IMDS has developed in-house technologies that push percutaneous coronary intervention forward. That same drive for innovation extends to how we operate - because the organizations trusted with people's health should hold themselves to a high standard everywhere, not just in the cath lab.

We understand our facilities, our operations, and our supply chain all carry an environmental footprint - from the energy we consume and the waste we generate, to the packaging our products ship in and the emissions from getting them where they're needed. Reducing that footprint, without ever compromising product quality, regulatory compliance, or patient safety, is core to how we do business.

Guided by our Environmental Strategy toward 2030 we're focused on:

  • Cutting energy and paper consumption across our facilities and operations.
  • Reducing and better segregating waste generated by our processes.
  • Lowering transportation-related emissions, from shipment logistics to business travel.
  • Minimizing the impact of our packaging materials.

We hold our suppliers and partners to the same bar, and we build environmental thinking into our strategic and operational decisions - not as an afterthought, but as a standard we set, measure, and keep raising.

PFAS-Free by Design

Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), often called "forever chemicals," have become one of the most pressing environmental concerns worldwide, driving global efforts to eliminate them from products and supply chains. Their persistence is part of the problem: medical devices are incinerated after use, so products containing PFAS release these substances into the environment at end of life.

Many specialty catheters, including microcatheters, still rely on conventional PFAS-based inner liners. Five years ago, IMDS made the decision to move away from PFAS across our product design, well ahead of where the industry stands today.

It's a distinction we're proud enough of to put on the box; look for the PFAS-free label on the back of every carton.
